Our Teaching Artists
Soprano Deanna Murray is a third-generation Arizona native who earned her DMA at the University of Arizona. In her performance career, she sang multiple opera roles including all of the ”Mozart Ladies,” and many of the soprano solos in Masterworks such as Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, the Mozart Requiem, the Brahms Requiem and the Verdi Requiem. Deanna taught at California State University Northridge and served as coordinator of the Vocal Arts area in her tenure there. She was privileged to teach and sing in Germany, Italy and Luxembourg. Deanna currently teaches performance majors at Grand Canyon University and maintains a private vocal studio of advanced singers who sing both classical repertoire and musical theater crossover.
Alto Abby Greenwald-Waterland has performed as a vocalist and and flautest nationally and internationally performing in a number of musical styles. She is at home in classical choirs, acapella quartets jazz combos and orchestras. Her teachers include Bobby McFerrin, Mark Murphy, Adele Zeitlin, Chuck Sher, Roland Watt and Vilem Sokol. As a teacher Abby loves to help others find their own personal expression and confidence. She currently teaches voice and flute in the East Valley.
Tenor William Endsley is a fourth-generation Arizona native who grew up on Phoenix stages singing opera and musical theater and did much of his performance training at California State University Northridge. His opera roles include those in the baritone range: Eisenstein, Belcore, John Brook, Don Alfonso, and as a tenor he sang Rodolfo, the Duke, and Tony from Westside story. In Los Angeles he sang under the baton of Eva Pekasolonen at Disney Hall, as tenor soloist in Masterworks, toured with Opera a la Carte singing Gilbert and Sullivan and toured internationally with the Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers. William returned to Grand Canyon University to complete a degree in Music Education and began a teaching career in K-8 music. He specializes in voice training for children and sings as tenor soloist and section leader at Mountain View Lutheran Church. He lives in Chandler with his lovely wife and darling 5 year old son.
Mezzo Soprano Aimee Denzler is a graduate of Grand Canyon University. Amy grew up in Arizona and currently teaches piano and voice to younger students in a music studio in Scottsdale, Arizona. Aimee’s area of singing and teaching expertise include various styles such as classical, musical theater and jazz. Amy would love to help you reach your musical goals.
Cellist David Murray is a fourth-generation Arizona native who spent his school years in California and trained as a cellist under Rachael Lonergan and Andrew Cook. David began his college studies at Oberlin Conservatory and returned to Arizona to complete his studies under Dr. Thomas Landshoot at ASU. He has played in numerous chamber festivals and many orchestras. He began teaching strings in California, continued in Arizona at Ambassador Christian Academy and is currently completing Suzuki education to teach young children. He is available with string and flute trio and other instrumental combinations to play for your special event. David maintains a private studio in the East Valley and is currently accepting students.
